Teal & Gold

My nieces usually spend part of their vacations with me. When they're here we pull out my makeup kit and try out diffrent looks. They love color just as much as me so its always an explosion of color with us. Haha.

For this look I used the following;

Eyes:
Concrete Minerals electric eye primer
Concrete Minerals shadow in "Vegas" on the lid (one of my FAVORITE colors from the line)
Make Up For Ever "n°83" in the crease and blended upward
I added a bit of Black from the Kat Von D Ludwig palette "Lucifer" into the crease to add depth and seperate the Teal and Gold.
As the highlight under the brow I used MACs "Gesso"
The eyeliner is Elfs black liquid liner.
And the lashes are just some that are from a bulk set I got as gift. (I believe they were bought off ebay.)

Face:
Hard Candy concealer under the eyes
MACs Studio Sculpt Foundation
And ELFs blush in"Tinkled pink" on the cheeks
With Cover Girls Bronzer right under
I also used "Tequila" from the Ludwig Palette as a highlight on the bridge of her nose and top of her cheek bone.

Lips:
Rimmels "Pink Blush" Lipstick

And that completes the look. Whew! Typing it all out makes me realize how many different products I used. Ha. I sure didn't feel it when I was using them all.

I hope you liked the look. I should have taken more pictures but I guess these will have to do. ♡ Izzy

Back 2 M.A.C. Program

So most people don't know about this program that M.A.C. offers (I didn't! lol) Well it's called "Back 2 M.A.C." and this is what they have posted on their website... "Because we share your commitment to the environment, M·A·C accepts returns of its primary packaging through the Back to M·A·C Program. By returning six [6] M·A·C primary packaging containers to a M·A·C counter or M·A·C Cosmetics online, you’ll receive a free M·A·C lipstick of your choice as our thanks to you."

To some this may sound kinda cheap, like SIX containers for ONE lipstick? But if you think about it, If you're already buying the product and when your done with it you're just gonna toss it in the trash anyway. So why not get something in return for your "trash"? =) From what I've heard, seen and read you don't have to trade it for just lipstick.You can pick an eyeshadow, lip gloss, or their lip glasses (as long as what you pick isn't part of the viva la glam which 100% of the money from the purchases goes to M.A.C. AIDS fund.) But I believe to get the eyeshadow, etc you have to go to a M.A.C. STORE not counter. If you go to the counter they will only trade them for a lipstick, but then again I'm NOT sure. It can't hurt to ask. =) {I will when I go to a counter then post what they tell me}

Here's a list of products that qualify for the program: (taken from their site) Remember that they have to be EMPTY! lol
  • Eyeshadow Pan
  • Trio Compact
  • Quad Compact
  • Paint Tube
  • Cream Color Base
  • Pigment Jar
  • Mascara Tube
  • Liquid Liner Tube
  • Powder Compact
  • Blush Compact
  • Lipstick Tube
  • Lip Glass Tube
  • Foundation Bottle
  • Foundation Tube
  • Foundation Bottle Jar
I know that more of their products count towards the program too, like their skin care line & brush cleaner but for some reason they're not listed. Easy way to know if what you have counts is to check the inside flap for the Back 2 M.A.C. logo. It looks like this: If it has it then it counts! =) So with all that said... start saving up your used containers and trade it in for a goodie! It saves you about anywhere between 12-18 bucks I think. Now a days 12 or 18 bucks is 12 or 18 bucks! Right? Right! ;)

MAC Brush Dupes

Some may ask What is dupe? the definition for dupe, is : a replicated thing or item, even a human. Not everyone has the Money to buy MAC brushes even though they'd like to. So I thought I would list the brushes that have Dupes & are a lot more affordable. In the end I basically made this list so people can just copy, paste & print it, to use as a reference when they do go buy them. Instead of watching a lengthy video & having to pause the video to write down all the info.

Loew Cornell Brush Dupes for MAC brushes

MAC 150 Powder Brush = Loew Cornell XXL Round
MAC 129 Blush Brush = Loew Cornell L Round
MAC 136/134 For Mineralized skin finish = Loew Cornell Maxine Mop 1inch
MAC 239 Shader Brush = Loew Cornell 3/8 Maxine Mop
MAC 208/266/269 Angled Liner = Loew Cornell 1/8 Inch (small), 1/4 Inch (medium), 3/8 Inch (Large)
MAC 194 Concealer Brush = Loew Cornell Filbert cut #8
MAC 228 Mini Shade Brush = Loew Cornell 1/4 Inch Maxine Mop
MAC 190 Foundation Brush = Loew Cornell 1 Inch Filbert cut

I hope this helps someone out. If it did leave me a comment! =) I'd like to know if it was worth the time. =)

MAC Paint Pots & Eyeshadow Primers whats the difference?

Okay so I'll admit that once I became a makeup "junkie" I went out and bought eyeshadow primer. (Urban Decay Primer Potion & Two Face Shadow Insurance) Because after watching all these videos on Youtube I realized 'oooh! that's why I get those creases in my eyeshadow!' haha.=) I didn't buy MAC because I figured that it was just overpriced makeup, anywho one day I got a gift card to MAC, so when I went in to the store I figured I'd try out their paint pots to see what the deal was. I ended up getting 2 of them one called "Bare Study" and another called "Blackground" to use w/ the "Blue Flame" shadow I got for my b-day.

Now w/ all that said on to the question most people ask, what's the difference? Here's what I've come up w/ after using Two Face Shadow Insurance, Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) and Paint Pots. They work the same way, they all prevent creasing, fading, and make the color stand out more. The major difference for me between Two Face Shadow Insurance and Urban Decay Primer Potion is that, Two Faced feels powdery to the touch. Which I liked because I have oily lids & I think that powdery feeling helps absorb or control the oil. Urban Decay works good too, I just don't like the bottle it comes in (you can see why in the picture above, the shape of the bottle keeps you from getting all the product out. One of the main downsides to it) , it feels like it doesn't go on evenly & it has a lotion type feeling to it. I dunno maybe that's just me. Now as for the Paint Pots, I like them because they're creamy, they come in different colors that you can mix and match to use w/ the color eyeshadows you plan on using. They come in a little jar or "pot" that you can use by dipping your finger or brush in. So in the end it just all depends on your personal preference and how much you would like to spend. Paint Pots cost $16.50 & both Two Face Shadow Insurance and Urban Decay Primer Potion cost $17.00 @ Sephora. Only a .50 cents difference, BUT! You get 5g with Paint Pots, 11g with Two Faced, and 10ml with Urban Decay. The choice is yours to make, these were just MY opinions from what I've seen and learned from using the products. Everyone will have a different experience with each product its just a matter of trying them out. I THINK Sephora gives samples and so does MAC I'm just NOT sure if they give samples of these products. But it doesn't hurt to ask if you ever find your self in store. =)

Sooo that was my take on the whole Paint Pot vs. Primer issue. Did I miss anything? Still have questions? Feel free to ask, I won't bite! lol. I may or may not have the answer but I can sure find out for you! =) Again these were just my OPINIONS, nothing more. I hope I helped, that's all I really want to do with this blog. So until next time, Blog ya later! lol =D
